ok this is loooong overdue! but it has been on my mind and ive been pondering on the lessons learnt.
woke up on day 2 of camp, and realised that we were a tad late for our morning devotion! and someone + another person did something that cannot be mentioned here....haha....
i looked for them after the morning devotion and while waiting, enjoyed the morning breeze and took some pictures..the outcome is really accidental because vapour was condensing on my lens...
day 2 was also the first day of our camp theme msgs - "Make Me a Blessing". we were provoked to think which is the keyword in this phrase. some thought it was "me", others thought it was "blessing",but actually, and truly, the keyword is "make", as this reveals our incapabilities of being a blessing with our own means. only through Christ!
Zechariah 8:13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
there was a point of time when Israel had declined spiritually in their physical prosperity. all they could be were economic blessings. i am like that sometimes. are u?
but there is a comfort, because God reminds that people of Israel that what is past is past (zech 8:9-10) whatever mistakes have been made, whatever things that went wrong, all there are over and God calls us to "Let (our) hands be strong.." we may once have been the "curse among the heathen", but God says "...so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing.."
what a comfort that God chooses to use our lives as blessings in spite of who we are! even in the camp, i already tasted how others are wonderful blessings from God :)
we had some free time in the afternoon so PP and i went to explore the place (nothing much to explore, reli). PP looks far away here, doesn't he? haha. the wonders that cropping can do...
den we went to the tennis courts and Ben, Sock Wah,Dn Winston were swinging their powerful serves. (im not too bad myself, just tt i only play tennis on Wii haha!!!) we saw this cute tree outside and while they were playing, they were wondering what on earth we were up to haha!! bad hair day! lol.. :)
and the day closed with a msg taken from Luke 10:30-37 on The Good Samaritan. 2 main thoughts:
- religiosity is not spirituality
- do i pick and choose who i extend my blessings to?
the building where we have our messages-it looks ghostly here...
*sigh* doing this echo makes me long for the church camp days again!
