thirst

Thirsty

thirsty? less in the physical sense, but the spiritual sense. many times in life, we crave for things. we long for material things to make us happy, memorable times to cause us to smile, special events to look forward too, even yummy food to satisfy our cravings. how happy do these things really make us? how much of our thirst do they quench?

i find im like that sometimes. not contented, not happy, searching, yearning for something, but what?

Psa 63: 1 says "O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; "

that's when it dawned on me that nothing, absolutely nothing on this earth can fully satisfy me. it is all vanity, as Solomon says in Ecclesiastes. only when i learn to find my contentment in Christ and seek Him first, will He add the rest (Matt 6: 33) and give me the desires of my heart. (Psa 37:4).
